Today the topic is things we are most afraid of.<\/p>\n
I know a lot of people would say this is silly, but I am very afraid of spiders. I have this vague recollection of watching this movie at my grandparent’s house. It was black and white, and there was this scene where this lady is feeding her baby and the giant spider leg comes down beside the window. All I know is that I become a bit unglued if I am confronted with a large and\/or fast moving spider! But then my fear battles with the Buddhist in me that says I should not kill living things, so if I can catch it and evict it, I do my best to do that. If I cannot, I apologize to it as I kill it.<\/p>\n
Going to the dentist is terrible to me. I am so afraid of the pain that I have anxiety before there is ever any pain. I think this stems from another incident when I was younger. I was old enough to go to the dentist on my own, he office was right at the end of the street. I had already been for the checkup with my mom, and I had a cavity that needed to be filled. So the appointment was made, and I walked down to the office. He decided that the cavity was small, so he did not use Novocain. It was painful, and I was quite upset. After that happened we never went back to that dentist, but that is mostly what I recall from childhood dental visits.<\/p>\n
A few months back I had a filling crack while eating a sandwich on whole grain bread, one of the grains did my filling in (I know it had been slowly chipping away prior to this, but I was just ignoring it.) My hubby called 1-800-DENTIST (who knew such a thing existed!!) and they found a dentist who took our insurance within about 1\/2 hour of where we were at the time. They also told them ahead of time that I was very fearful. Hubby was great, stayed with me the whole time. They used nitrous, which did help me relax, so I survived. I am still afraid of the dentist, but I love my husband even more for how sweetly he cared for me.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
